St-Henri
A company’s first strain usually reflects their profound values, beliefs and what they stand for in terms of quality and taste. It comes as no surprise that we decided to associate our first product, the St-Henri Kush, to one of Montreal’s most appreciated, historical areas. Oriented on art and craftsmanship, St-Henri rejuvenates daily, inspiring creativity and passion. So, here we are, with our homage to our first love and strain, St-Henri.
St-Henri, a working-class neighbourhood, is known for its great craftsman that helped build this incredible city of ours, Montreal. The area near the water used to be called St-Henri-des-Tanneries (St-Henri of the Tannery), because of the artisans’ shops where leather tanning took place. It was one of Canada’s most important industrial centers, due to its first train track serving Montreal and its residents, like the world famous Louis Cyr who served as a policeman in this area. St-Henri represents our history, our personality and has a great meaning for all “Montréalais”. We are honoured to associate ourselves with an area that had such a meaningful impact on the city we love most.
"514 is a proud Montreal company that reflects our unique and talented city. Our employees are as diverse as our city, we are proud craftsmen and proud Montrealer’s. St Henri represents the old and the new with a spirit that drives our city to this day. St Henri is a perfect district to name our first strain after the "514 St Henri Kush". We will honor the district as those before us did, with distinction" - George Goulakos, Co-Founder, Executive VP Sales and Marketing of 514.
St-Henri is now an exciting, diversified place to live. It has transformed itself continuously, becoming one of Montreal’s greatest areas to live. Its proximity to the Lachine Canal, its restaurants and various local artists hosting soirées and exhibitions, together create an area full of positive energy. The neighbourhood shares what the Cannabis industry is all about, it constantly reinvents itself and is part of a new, powerful movement.
We are proud to associate our first strain, the OG (original gangster), which was first developed in California, to the Saint-Henri neighbourhood. It goes without saying that we wanted to associate that strain to a historic area known to appreciate the finer things in life, whether it is wood, glass or plants. For us, it truly reflects our city and has a significant meaning for all “Montréalais”.

514 is the embodiment of Montreal's culture and soul. Authentic, unique, colourful... and a little bit rough around the edges. And that's how we like it.
